![]() Tantra doesn’t have to be intimidating. It’s not about acrobatics. It’s not about putting on a show. And it definitely doesn’t require your partner to chant in Sanskrit or stare into your soul for 45 minutes (unless they want to)! At its heart, tantra is about presence, connection, and pleasure. If you’re curious about incorporating tantric principles into your relationship—but your partner is a little…skeptical—here are a few gentle, no-pressure ways to start: 1. Slow. Everything. Down. We live fast. We love fast. We even touch fast. Next time you’re together, consciously slow things down. Let your hands linger. Pause between kisses. Let each moment stretch just a little longer. This shift in tempo alone can be incredibly sensual. 2. Focus on breath. Your breath is one of the simplest but most powerful tools in Tantra. Try syncing your breathing with your partner for a few minutes. Or, breathe deeply and slowly while touching them—notice how it calms your nervous system and heightens sensation. 3. Eye contact—but make it soft. We’re often so used to closing our eyes during intimacy that we forget the power of looking. Just 10–15 seconds of gentle eye contact during a quiet moment can build trust and create emotional intimacy without saying a word. 4. Ditch the goal. One of the core tantric ideas is letting go of orgasm as the endgame. Instead, focus on pleasure for pleasure’s sake. Be curious. Explore. Let the experience be enough. 5. You don’t have to call it Tantra. You just have to show up with intention, presence, and a little curiosity. Attunement is a very simple (non sexual) tantric sex inspired practice that’s designed to help nourish your relationship without getting naked. Book a virtual coffee with me and I’ll tell you all about it. Do you want help figuring out how to introduce this energy into your relationship—without weirding your partner out, but you don't know where to start? ✨ Start here. XO, Jane PS: There’s a connective thread between the release and healing you experience during tantric practices and the 5-PATH hypnosis work I’ve been doing with clients for the past two years. I’d be happy to share more about that on our call as well.
