Soul Crushing.

That’s how it feels to live in a dead bedroom - a relationship that’s seriously lacking in sexual intimacy. People in dead bedrooms use the words SOUL CRUSHING over and over again when they talk about their relationships.

That’s because life feels impossible when something so fundamental is lacking - the feeling of being accepted, loved and welcomed by the person they want most in the world.

I love my gardener and now he’s gone

Alex Kollar is my gardener. Or, at least he was until a few weeks ago. He died tragically in a kayaking accident on the Deschutes River just a 10 minute drive from my house. You may remember pieces I’ve written about him.
Alex tended our perennials and pruned our trees. He planted strawberries and blueberries (and even corn) in a side yard (THE WALL OF FOOD!) where junk pots and pieces of leftover plywood used to be. He added native strawberries to the flower beds.
