Viagra is an interesting medication because it changes blood flow in men. This means that when men are turned on, their bodies respond. Viagra (and Cialis and Levitra) impact the way men’s bodies respond to feeling turned on. It doesn’t turn them on. In women, that getting ready bit could be handled by a personal lubricant. The drug companies are working 24/7 to create a “female Viagra”. Last year Pzifer sold $1.8 billion of Viagra to happy men. If they found something “magical” to address female libido it would be a literal miracle. Because female sexuality is multifaceted. It’s influenced by her environment - her home, the lack of privacy, the COVID, the clutter, the bad timing, the exhaustion. It’s influenced by her body shame, her lack of sexual confidence, her constant negative self talk. It’s influenced by her partner’s lack of skill and his lack of sexual leadership. It’s influenced by the constant power struggles, the humiliation, the little things said over and over that make her feel like shit. By the way, he looks at other women. By his frequent porn use. One little blue pill and she’s forgotten all about his infidelity or the way he snapped at her this morning. She just wants him. No matter what. A literal miracle. If this resonates more than you wish it did, check out the MasterClass I'm hosting starting next month. Y'all know that there's something missing in your life right now.
